Toyota World Solihull support local Crown Bowls
Toyota World based in Shirley, Solihull has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with Olton Tavern Bowling Club in Lode Lane Solihull, to support one of the regions most historic sports on a club site that has flourished for over fifty years.
Toyota World Centre Manager David Crooks said; "Moving into Solihull six months ago we wanted to support the local community and we've chosen a sport that has strong local links and a following amongst our customers. We have been able to provide Olton Tavern with a diverse range of support, including the provision of a much needed scarifier for the recently purchased lawn mower, and the provision of a perpetual cup for a new competition "The Toyota World Solihull Doubles Invitation Cup". We will also bring the team from the Centre for some coaching and fun on a summer evening and enjoy match days with the club during the season. "
Olton Tavern Chairman Ian Andrews said;" We are delighted that Toyota World Solihull has chosen to support us by providing the expensive scarifier, that in my other role as keeper of the greens, has made a huge difference to the bowling green. We now have smart and professional perimeter signage and a completely new competition that will provide more entertainment for the sixteen clubs we frequently compete against in the Warwickshire League."
The youngest member of the club is 8 year old Nathaniel Richardson, who played for the first time this season and made a very respectable score. He
joined Ian and David to 'test drive' the new mowers scarifier in preparation for the season.
