Vanquish Zagato Speedster and Shooting Brake join Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato family.

Entering production back in late 2016, the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato and Vanquish Zagato Volante were praised as two of the most beautiful cars ever created. Furthering this exciting and successful creative partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato even further, it has now been confirmed that production shall begin on a stunning Vanquish Zagato Speedster and sensational Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake.

As with previous Aston Martin Zagato models, the now family of four Vanquish Zagato models remain the perfect addition to any collection and are strictly limited to a total of just 325 cars - 99 Vanquish Zagato Coupes, 99 Vanquish Zagato Volantes, 99 Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brakes and just 28 Vanquish Zagato Speedsters.

Based upon the fantastic Vanquish S, each Vanquish Zagato variant features Aston Martin’s sublime 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine; subsequently offering 600PS and the ability to sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds. Feeding that power to the rear wheels through the smooth Touchtronic III transmission, all Vanquish Zagato models promise to offer the incredible driving experience that is synonymous with Aston Martin.

Speaking of the Vanquish Zagato family, Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman said:

“We haven’t released Zagato models as a family before, at least not in this way, but the idea is not without precedent. Think back to the DB7 Zagato and DB AR1, or the V8 Zagato Coupe and Volante, for example. We’ve simply taken things a few steps further. Why create a family of Zagatos? Well, many of our customers want different things. Some prefer the purity of a Coupe, but others love the idea of something more extreme, like the Speedster. We’re creating collectibles, future concours cars…”

These latest additions to the family – Speedster and Shooting Brake – represent the two extremes of Vanquish Zagato. The rarest of the family, Vanquish Zagato Speedster demonstrates uncompromising design that is solely aimed to allow the raw enjoyment of an open-top performance sports car. Sharing Aston Martin details, such as Vulcan’s ‘Blade’ tail lights and the sweeping shape of the stunning Vanquish S, Zagato’s signature design features can be easily found across the car; namely in the 3D Zagato ‘Z’ motifs that are repeated in the front grille and the ‘double-bubble’ Speed Humps that rise up from behind the seats.

Still very much a strict two-seater, Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake represents an opposite extreme to the Speedster. Featuring design that was conceived through the mission of creating a two-seater GT car that was individual and exceptionally practical, Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is sculpturally dramatic. Once again demonstrating Zagato’s signature ‘Double-Bubble’ roof design – this time complete with glass inlays – the extended roof gives Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake a long elegant silhouette whilst bathing the luxurious interior in light.

The Aston Martin and Zagato creative partnership is now one of the most enduring in the automotive industry – with the first creation being the DB4 GT Zagato. Speaking of this long partnership, Andrea Zagato, CEO of Zagato, said:

“Zagato’s relationship with Aston Martin began with my grandfather and the DB4 GT Zagato, almost sixty years ago. To have a creative ‘marriage‘ thrive for three generations is something as unique as the cars themselves. My family name is associated with all kinds of wonderful designs, but for many enthusiasts and collectors around the world those that combine the Z of Zagato with the wings of Aston Martin are the most special. Collaborating closely on the design of four complimentary, yet completely different Vanquish Zagatos has been an incredibly exciting challenge. I’m proud to continue the story my grandfather started and thrilled that our partnership with Aston Martin continues to realise such exciting cars.”
