Not all driving situations are the same. The optional Audi drive select changes handling and response at the touch of a button to suit how you want to drive. There are four modes:comfort, dynamic, auto and individual.

For long-distances, comfort adjusts your set-up to create a more relaxing ride. Dynamic changes the settings for a sportier driving experience, adjusting steering and throttle response. The auto mode adapts the system depending on the current driving situation whileindividual, which is available in conjunction with a Satellite Navigation system, allows you to configure the dynamics of the car to your own preferences depending on what special equipment is fitted.

Also with Audi side assist and Audi lane assist.

A choice of engines

Thanks to Vorsprung durch Technik, making the choice between petrol and diesel engines isn’t so easy anymore. Engines of both fuel types offer improved power, lower emissions, sporty performance and increased efficiency. Do you prefer the high-torque pulling power of a diesel or the increased response of a petrol engine?

The choice is yours but, as a rule of thumb, the higher your mileage, the more economical a diesel engine will be.

Latest generation electronic stability program

As well as allowing sportier driving on the road, the new generation of the ESP (version 8.1) in the Audi Q5 features off road detection. This reprograms the ESP system, the traction control and anti-lock braking system so they adapt to the specific driving conditions encountered in off-road terrain, such as snow, gravel or mud. You’ll get good traction in all manner of conditions, the pleasure of a sporty driving style and assured handling – even on difficult surfaces.

Roof rack detection

In addition, the ESP system is fitted with a sensor system that detects whether you have fastened the roof bars and adapts the system to react to a higher centre of gravity.
