Team Bentley London to Paris Cycle Ride
Congratulations to Team Bentley from Bentley Leicester for completing a gruelling yet very enjoyable cycle ride from London to Paris. Aftersales Manager Barry Hopkinson (60) teamed up with his son Sam and two other friends to take part in the cycle ride over 4 days.
The 309 mile route took the riders through some beautiful scenery taking in the sombre and moving areas around the Somme. The Champs de Elysee and Arc de Triomphe were closed to see the 500 cyclists cross the finish line to mark their own triumph in completing the challenge. Barry commented ‘I have been cycling a bit for many years but never anything as challenging as this, I think mine was probably the oldest bike there but I managed to keep up and really enjoyed the experience, cycling down the Champs Elysee was magnificent but I was ready for a beer when we finished.’
Raising money for Action Medical Research, a charity offering hope to the many thousands of families across the UK who are dealing with the trauma of a baby born too early, have a child affected by disability, or who are facing the challenge of caring for a child with a rare and devastating disease for which there is no cure, Team Bentley were successful in contributing £3,000 to this worthy cause.
