The New BMW ALPINA D5 Bi-Turbo Saloon and Touring Arrive in the UK

Sytner BMW, sole UK concessionaires for ALPINA since 1983, has announced the arrival of the NEW BMW ALPINA D5 Bi-Turbo Diesel Saloon and Touring, pinpointing the 'clever' aspect of ownership as a major feature. 

For many owners of ultra high performance sports cars, paddle-shifters and complex gear shifts have become an inseparable part of the driving experience. Exhilarating when conditions right, much less so when they are not. Some solve the dichotomy with a second car, but the smarter alternative is a BMW ALPINA and the new D5 epitomises what makes the marque the ‘thinking drivers’ choice.

The 3.0 litre 6 cylinder diesel develops 350 hp and 700 nm of torque making this the most powerful 'green' 5 Series available in the UK, capable of 171 mph and 47.9 mpg (combined) effortlessly delivered via uniquely responsive ALPINA Switch-tronic 8-speed automatic transmission. 

In Saloon and Touring form, the D5 offers almost limitless opportunity for personalising the already luxurious 'standard' specification which includes: 20” ALPINA Alloys, Dakota Leather, Heated Front Seats, Xenon Headlights and Variable Damper Control.

With prices starting at £55,950 (£58,950 Touring) and emissions of only 155g/km, the new ALPINA D5 is similarly thought provoking in financial terms for many business users. 

The first UK deliveries of the Alpina D5 Bi-Turbo will arrive March 2012.
