FERRARI OWNERS' CLUB SILVERSTONE TRACK DAY APRIL 2011
Maranello and Graypaul Birmingham were delighted to join the Ferrari Owners’ Club at their first track day of 2011. A host of Ferraris’ took to the country’s premier racetrack.
At 0630 hours on an absolutely glorious spring morning a host of Ferraris began to arrive for the first Ferrari Owners’ Club track day of the year at the world renowned Silverstone Circuit.
95 plus Ferraris of just about all types from the 246 Dino right through to the 458 Italia road and Challenge cars plus icons such as the F40 and the most modern 599 GTO were ready to take to the circuit. In addition and of considerable interest a special runner for the morning was the 1954 500/625 Grand Prix car of Alexander Boswell, accompanied by accomplished Ferrari race driver and journalist Tony Dron – something very unique indeed to have on circuit. |
We were set up in Garage 8 and were on hand to provide much needed and appreciated technical support, a Pirelli Tyre facility plus a display of the most modern Ferraris: the beautiful California and of course the stunning 458 Italia, all along with that much needed coffee and chill out zone for ‘warm’ drivers to occupy after a hard driving session on circuit. The day ran very smoothly, pretty much uninterrupted and session after session saw these great cars howling past the start/finish line – spring sunshine and Ferraris plus good company – it doesn’t get much better than that. |
