Guy Salmon Portsmouth are proud to be a sponsor at the Natwest Island Games 2011.
The International Island Games were founded in the Isle of Man in 1985 and today include 25 member islands in, or associated with, the nine sovereign nations of Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK, plus the Caribbean.
The Islands come together every two years to compete in friendly competition in a range of up to 14 sports chosen by the host Island from an approved list of 18. This year, the Isle of Wight have secured its bid to host the National Games 2011 which will be held on 25 June – 1July.
Around 4000 athletes and officials plus several supporters clubs are expected to attend. With around 3000 athletes from 25 member islands competing in 14 sports during the course of one week, the Isle of Wight NatWest Island Games 2011 is anticipated to be the largest games to date. It will certainly be the largest international multi-sport event ever held on the Island.
Guy Salmon Portsmouth will be sponsoring the Tennis, Football and Cycling and we feel that it is a wonderful opportunity to be involved in this exciting event. We will also be over on the Island with a range of our Land Rovers throughout the week.
