Redhill Honda Sponsor Bletchingley Bowls Club
Chipstead Clinch Victory at Bletchingley Invitation Fours
Bletchingley Bowling Club hosted their Redhill Honda sponsored Mens invitation fours on Sunday 10th June.
The league rounds proved to be decisive for the leading teams before lunch; however, the makeup of the two semi-finals was decided on the final league session of bowling. The teams who eventually made it to the semi final playoffs were Croydon who played Redhill and Croydon Municipal Officers who played Chipstead.
Despite the weather taking a turn for the worse, both semi-finals were closely contested with some excellent bowling from all four teams, the scores finishing Croydon 5 – Redhill 2 and Croydon Municipal Officers 8 – Chipstead 9 after playing an extra end.
The final between Croydon and Chipstead was played in light rain which made the conditions difficult. Chipstead dominated the final leaving Croydon with an almost impossible task of scoring a maximum on the last end to tie the match. Chipstead eventually winning 10 – 1.
