Heroes welcome for Marathon Man!
The Kings Chrysler Jeep Swindon TEAM welcomed Mike Buss, a former soldier, who is an endurance athlete who supports Help for Heroes and is sponsored by Jeep.
The whole of the dealership can out to cheer him on his return after a gruelling run started last week. He ran from Swindon where he lives to take part in the Brighton Marathon last weekend, to then run up to London to take part in the Virgin London Marathon yesterday. Not content with that, he then ran from London to Kings Swindon this morning to be with us at 12.30 lunchtime – another 80 miles on top of the 26.2 miles run yesterday A total of 320 miles !!.
We arranged a large lunch, juices and a chair to rest on whilst catching up with his family after his epic journey. There was a BBC TV film crew from Points West News together with local press to cover this record breaking event and test of stamina. We were honoured with the arrival of the Lord Mayor of Swindon (Mr. David Wren) who came out to meet Mike and say well done.
Mike Fellows, Managing Director said “We are immensely proud of Mike and his achievements in raising money for Help For Heroes. He is inspiration to many people and I hope our support through Jeep enables him to generate PR and more importantly funds for this great cause.” Mike Buss wants to break 20 world endurance records in 12 months and raise £100,000 by the end of 2010 – a record in itself.
Mike Buss supports Help for Heroes because he was medically discharged from the army ten years ago when a bomb caused deafness in one ear.
