Its next generation motorsports machine

The Huracán Super Trofeo marks a new benchmark for the race series. The redesigned Huracán Super Trofeo was developed in collaboration with Dallara Engineering, with direct involvement by founder Giampaolo Dallara. Dallara's history with Lamborghini dates back to 1963 when he worked as a Lamborghini engineer and later led the development of the legendary Miura.

If you'd like to get your hands on one, you'll need to be a registered participant in the Super Trofeo series. Alternatively, you can see it at Super Trofeo Europe which takes place on the 22-24th May 2015.

About

Design

The frame is a hybrid carbon/aluminum construction with modified geometries to house an improved radiator up front and better accommodate the racing gearbox at the rear, which also provides better aerodynamics.

The bodywork is made using composite materials and includes a 43kg full rollcage. Dry weight is just 1,270kg with a 42/58% weight distribution. Inside and out, it's a pure-bred racing machine.

Chassis and Powertrain

The aerodynamics provide better efficiency, traction and downforce using a ten-position rear wing, front and rear diffusers as well as adjustable front air intakes. The Huracán Super Trofeo will be exclusively-equipped with Pirelli tires engineered specifically for this application.

The chassis is modified to accept a larger race radiator up front and the racing gearbox at the rear, while the bodywork itself is mounted on fast fittings for pit-lane repairs. Aerodynamics have been tuned for greater downforce and drag efficiency; the rear wing has ten different downforce settings while the front air intake ducts are also adjustable.

Driving Dynamics

The Huracán Super Trofeo adopts the direct-injected V10 engine from the road car, delivering 620 horsepower in race trim, and a rear-drive set-up meant to accelerate the series racers' transition into GT racing. The vehicle weighs an ultra-light 2,800 lbs, attributed to the hybrid carbon fiber/aluminum chassis and strict motorsports weight reduction. The weight/power ratio is 4.5 lbs/hp.
