Lamborghini Birmingham Looks To The Future
2017 is an exciting year for Lamborghini Birmingham, with the arrival of new products, a refurbished home in Fort Dunlop, and an expansion of the dedicated Lamborghini team as the marque looks to the future.
The new Aventador S will make its debut in the showroom this spring. The new incarnation of the Lamborghini V12 flagship is denominated by the ‘S’: the same suffix as on previously ‘enhanced’ Lamborghini models such as the Miura. It’s described by Automobili Lamborghini President and Chief Executive Stefano Domenicali as a next generation Aventador, as well as the “expression of new technological and performance milestones in super sports car development.”
Including new four-wheel steering system, significantly enhanced suspension, electronics and customizable driving modes, its more powerful, naturally aspirated engine outputs 740 hp with a 0-62 mph acceleration of just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of over 217 mph.
The rear-wheel drive V10 Huracán Spyder also makes its Birmingham debut, with deliveries to customers commencing this spring. “This model enlarges the Huracán family,” says Lamborghini Birmingham’s general sales manager Chris Synnott, “giving our clients the choice of a four-wheel or two-wheel drive Huracán in both coupe and convertible versions. This latest Huracán is all about the lifestyle of open air driving while engineered for rear-wheel driving fun.
“A high performance Huracán Performante is also expected to be unveiled at Geneva motor show in March. These are exciting times!”
While Lamborghini Birmingham gears up for a busy 2017, the Lamborghini brand continues its global success too. In 2016 the Italian manufacturer increased worldwide sales by 7% to 3,457 deliveries, growing its sales figures for the sixth consecutive year and with the UK consistently in the top three markets worldwide. The story continues with the forthcoming new SUV, the Lamborghini Urus, which will be introduced in 2018 and for which Lamborghini Birmingham is preparing this year.
“The new SUV is an incredibly exciting car for us,” says Chris Synnott. Our loyal Lamborghini clients are incredibly excited by this V8, twin turbo, that Lamborghini promises will be the highest performance SUV in its class. But we are also welcoming many new prospective clients to Birmingham, who have always loved the idea of the Lamborghini marque but need the passenger capacity offered by a larger car.”
As Lamborghini and its Birmingham dealer look towards the future, a new look and feel within the showroom is being adopted, with Lamborghini Birmingham planning its own refurbishment towards the end of this year.
“This is an incredible brand to represent, with really exciting times ahead,” says Chris Synnott. “We’re creating a new environment and building the team as we welcome new products on board. 2017 really is the year of the bull in Birmingham.”
