A Box of Joy
The aura of the festive season is smoothly sweeping in, with small and delightful Christmas joys hinted around every corner. As we look forward to a well deserved break and spending time with those closest to us, countless amounts of people across the world face a time of hardship, many of them children. This year Richard Rhodes and his team at Lexus Leicester have joined the Christmas Shoebox Appeal, to help the Samaritan’s Purse charity with their Operation Christmas Child project. The team have collected around 25 boxes filled with gifts for less fortunate children. The boxes have been individually wrapped and filled with items ranging from colouring books to scarves; anything to put a smile on the faces of those who need it most.
The Samaritan’s Purse, which is a Christian relief and development organisation, actively helps children and families across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, who are in desperate need. Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas Project, bringing joys to lives of underprivileged children since 1990. Last year nearly 1.2 million shoeboxes were packed and sent from the UK, to the joyful arms of children in some of the toughest parts of the world.
Some of our most memorable Christmas’s date back to when we were children, that feeling of warmth and excitement of waking up on Christmas morning in a safe and loving home surrounded by gifts given to us by those who care most. Every child deserves a happy Christmas and Lexus Leicester are doing their bit to make that happen.
