Nechells In Bloom Project

There has been a history of problems within the parks of East Birmingham that include vandalism, graffiti and anti-social behaviour. These problems have driven people away from using and enjoying their local parks and green spaces. The Nechells in Bloom project works towards bringing people back in to their parks and working together towards solutions to the existing problems.  

The project is run by a combination of local people, residents, business people in the area along with the local environment and council departments.  Regular meetings are held to discuss and action ideas that will improve the area of Nechells so that the local community feels better about the area they live in and can take pride in what they have achieved. 

The iniatives range from planting local area parks, litter picks, environmental awareness, fund raising and helping people in the local community.  People both young and old are involved and children from local schools are encouraged to help plant the areas and keep them tidy.

 Lexus Birmimgham are active in promoting the protection, conservation and improvement of the area and have been involved in fund raising, planting out and litter picks.
