The Maserati Quattroporte Diesel

Elegant and dynamic, unconventionally sporty. Available from £69,325 including VAT.

Passion is never commonplace and in spite of its engine type, the Quattroporte Diesel's personality is still unmistakable sporty. This is obvious at first glance, with the large bonnet leading back from the traditional Maserati oval radiator grille with vertical fillets, inspired by the GranTurismo and other key cars in the marque's history, dominated by the large chromed Trident badge.

DESIGN

Either side of the radiator grille, the tall headlights almost merge into the line of the sides, which starts from the familiar three air vents behind the front mudguards and runs on in a sequence of muscular curves. Passion is never commonplace and in spite of its engine type, it's personality is unmistakable sporty. This is obvious at first glance, with the bonnet leading back from the traditional oval radiator grille with vertical fillets, dominated by the large Trident badge.

The intuitive on-board controls offer themselves to the occupants with discretion, taking care not to detract from the real protagonists: the surfaces and materials. The dashboard, divided into three levels, features a broad central band across the width of the car. The Poltrona Frau® leather, the fine wood and the contrast stitching, styled in keeping with the purest hand-crafted tradition, seamlessly continue the sleek lines of the dashboard, the central tunnel and the doors, enveloping the passengers in an atmosphere of luxury.

TECHNOLOGY

Under the bonnet throbs a 3 litre V6 Diesel engine that delivers the sporty temperament of petrol-fuelled units with the benefits typical of Diesel. A result achieved thanks to a state-of-the-art common rail fuel injection system and a turbocharging system that features a variable geometry unit that cuts inertia and turbo lag.

The many cutting-edge solutions used on the six-cylinder engine are reflected in a maximum power of 275 HP and a peak torque of 600 Nm, available between 2,000 and 2,600 rpm. This unit's efficiency is demonstrated by exceptional consumption and emissions data: 45.6 mpg and 163 g/km of CO2 in the combined cycle.
