Mercedes-Benz of Carlisle to sponsor the first Cross Border Challange 10k
Dealership Sponsorship of very first Cross Border Challenge 10k
Mercedes-Benz of Carlisle are sponsoring the very first cross border challenge 10k race, due to take place on Sunday 29th July 2012.
The 10k road running race will start in Gretna (Scotland) and will finish on the outskirts of Carlisle (England) at a very special event village at Kingmoor Park.
The event is one of a select few cross border runs anywhere in the world - it promises to be a fantastic event that's suitable for both the experienced and the first time 10k runner.
The challenge is to support three very worthy charities -
“Sponsoring the Cross Border Challenge was a simple decision to make” says Richard Fellows, Dealer Principal at Sytner owned Mercedes-Benz of Carlisle.“We are always looking at ways that we can give back to the local community, whether it is through opportunities such as this, or with our employee’s time and commitment in helping local charities”. “When we looked at the Charities that Mike and the team were committing to, the management team instantly agreed that it was the right thing to do!”
“We have had discussions in the past with charitable organisations, and completely understand the huge financial implication that is involved in running them; we also understand that the vast majority of the operating expense is found through fundraising and this is something that hopefully we can help with”
“This is a great opportunity for the residents of Carlisle to partake in, and feel proud to be helping these local charities. I would urge as many people as possible to get involved and have a go!
