Mercedes-Benz of Bath new Dealer Principal
Get Sett for a new experience at Mercedes-Benz of Bath
He may not be known as a local rugby legend but Tim Sett can look forward to making his mark with Mercedes-Benz of Bath, where he is hoping to land plenty of ‘conversions’ among the city’s motorists.
Tim is celebrating his 20th year in the motor industry with his appointment as Dealer Principal at the Peasedown St John retailer.
Having originally started as a trainee Sales executive, the 44-year-old has held virtually every sales post within the showroom but was most recently Used Car Buyer for the Sytner Group Mercedes-Benz Division– a role that covered 13 sites including Mercedes-Benz of Bath.
But it could all have been so different for Tim, whose promise as a young inside centre was spotted by Bath Rugby Club until a serious hand injury prevented his progress from schoolboy level.
“The motor trade has been good to me so I’ve no regrets about not making it at rugby,” said Tim, whose haul of 78 points in one match still remains a Wiltshire schools’ record.
“Joining Mercedes-Benz of Bath provides a fresh challenge and is the perfect opportunity for me to return to the retail environment, where I can utilise the skills and experience that I’ve gained in my career to strengthen the business in what are difficult market conditions,” he added.
“The products, services and facilities on offer at Mercedes-Benz of Bath are already second-to-none, but it’s my objective to make sure that we are doing all we can to deliver outstanding service and value in order to retain our existing customers but also attract new ones to the delights of Mercedes-Benz ownership.”
