Mercedes-Benz of Swindon cyclists raise £400 for chosen charities

Two members of the Mercedes-Benz of Swindon service team, Martin Smith and Darren Compton took part in the annual 24-hour endurance charity cycle race around Crudwell in Wiltshire and raised over £400 to two nominated charities.

The Mercedes-Benz Stars team was raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and K.T's Pedal Crunchers team was raising money for Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis. This tough road race stretched both bikers and Darren did not even take a nap and kept fully awake for the duration of the event.

Mike Fellows, Mercedes-Benz of Swindon Managing Director said "I am really proud of Darren and Martin who won this event for the third time again this year. There are a large number of teams who enter this race with a serious standard of competitor entering. We have a number of staff who cycle to work and keep fit - but these guys however are at a completely different level. Martin and Darren are elite cyclists with a passion for two wheels and I am pleased we could help support them in their money raising efforts"
