Mercedes-Benz of Teesside support 'Ride for Liam'
Staff at Mercedes-Benz of Teesside teamed up with Adept cycling to take part in the ‘Ride for Liam’ event, a mass cycle ride from Ingleby Barwick to Thornaby Cricket Club.
The purpose of the event was to raise as much money as possible for the family of little Liam Tarpey, who suffers from Tay-Sachs disease. Tay-Sachs disease causes progressive deterioration of nerve cells and of mental and physical abilities, there is no known cure or treatment. Liam’s family want to create as many memorable experiences as possible for their son and purchase essential care equipment.
The dealership sponsored the ‘Ride for Liam’ event in conjunction with the Adept precision engineering cycling team, with some staff being part of the 225+ riders who took part in the 35 mile challenge.
Martyn Donnelly, Great Uncle to Liam, General Sales Manager at Mercedes-Benz of Teesside and Adept team cyclist said “the day was a massive success with over 225 riders turning up to ‘Ride for Liam’ “
With sponsorship money and 2 bikes auctioned over £3700 was raised!
Well done to all involved.
