Running Their Spots Off For Children In Need!

Staff at Mercedes-Benz of Northampton are hoping that it won’t only be the cars that they sell and service that will be renowned for their smooth running when they participate in a fund-raiser for BBC Children in Need next week (Thursday 17^th November). Thirty members of staff are aiming to clock up 100 miles for the Appeal – not aboard a fleet of the latest luxurious models but on two treadmills that will be set up at the Riverside Business Park showroom. From 8am to 6pm, employees will be taking it in turns to run or walk on the treadmills, with everyone invited to undertake two or three 15-minute stints throughout the course of the day. The 10-hour stunt will not be the first time this year that the Mercedes-Benz of Northampton team has put their fitness levels to the test in aid of a good cause. In May, they raised £1,700 for the local Cynthia Spencer Hospice from a sponsored swim.

“The event will not only raise money for Children in Need but is a great way of enhancing the camaraderie amongst the team and generating plenty of interest amongst customers, who are being invited to sponsor us for every mile that we achieve,” said Mike Sands, Mercedes-Benz of Northampton’s General Manager. “It’s not in my nature to give my team the run around but on this occasion I’m more than happy to do so.”
