PREPARING YOUR CAR FOR SPRING

Many of us perform a spring clean inside your home, but what about your MINI? There are several ways you can freshen up your vehicle for spring so you are ready for the exciting adventures ahead.

  • Organize the items you keep in your vehicle, such as cords, CD, tissues, toys, and more.

  • Use a specially-designed cleaner to wipe down the hard surfaces in your vehicle.

  • Clean the inside and outside of the windshield and windows.

  • Throw away all trash that has accumulated during the winter months.

  • Vacuum the carpets and cloth seating surfaces.

  • Wash your vehicle and apply a coat of wax to protect the paint and keep it shining.

SIGNS YOUR CAR NEEDS A TUNE-UP

Spring is a great time to take a good look at your vehicle to see if it is in need of a little TLC. What does a tune-up do for your car? During a tune-up, technicians inspect the engine to see if there is any part that needs to be cleaned, repaired, or replaced. What are a few signs that your car needs a tune-up?

SPRING AUTOMOTIVE MAINTENANCE

If you notice any of the above signs your car needs a tune-up, it is important to have your vehicle looked at by a professional. Additionally, there are a few spring automotive maintenance tasks you can perform right at home to make sure your car is ready for vacations and outdoor activities.

  • Check your tyres: Make sure your tyres are properly inflated, and check your tyre tread to see if your tires are safe.

  • Check your battery: Harsh winter weather can put a lot of strain on your vehicle, so it is a good idea to check the condition of your battery. If the battery is weak, you may want to proactively replace it to avoid getting stranded.

  • Replace the wiper blades and fluid: Snow can wreak havoc on your wiper blades, so if you notice any streaking, it is time for a replacement. Check the wiper fluid level as well and add more if needed.

  • Get an oil change: Change the oil and filter at the intervals recommended by the automaker.
