Our highlights of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show

Every year, the world’s automotive powers gather at the Geneva Motor Show to show us their latest and greatest creations. Often being the place where the world's pinnacle cars are given their premiere, the event is revered as one of the best and most important shows of the automotive calendar. With the 2016 Geneva Motor Show now at a close, we’ve gathered up some of the undoubtable highlights of what has been one of the greatest Geneva Shows ever.




Alpina B7

Alpina’s latest offering comes in the form of the monumentally powerful Alpina B7. Based on the BMW 7-Series, this all-wheel drive Alpina utilises a 600bhp twin-turbocharged V8 to accomplish 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of over 190mph.

Audi Q2

Making its debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the brand new Audi Q2 is a small SUV that can still offer space and practicality despite being compact. Audi’s new angular design language can be heavily felt through the elegant lines that dominate the exterior, as can their hunger for ground breaking technology on the interior.

Audi SQ7

Who said a large SUV couldn’t be blisteringly quick? Audi didn’t, that’s why they used the 2016 Geneva Motor Show to unveil to us the all-new Audi SQ7 – a 5 metre SUV that can dispatch 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds. Gaining some intense new styling elements over the standard Q7, the SQ7 is a beautiful blend of size, luxury, style and speed.

Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limo

Taking their range topping Mulsanne to new levels of comfort and luxury, Bentley unveiled the Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limo at the 2016 Geneva Motor show. Now one metre longer, the Mulsanne Grand Limo by Mulliner draws interior inspiration from the world of private aviation.

BMW M760Li xDrive

The 2016 Geneva Motor Show saw BMW unveil the latest in their flagship 7 Series range in the form of the all-new M760Li xDrive. Featuring BMW’s 4-wheel drive system, this new 7 Series variant gives the driver the opportunity to enjoy an excellent 600bhp 6.6-litre, twin-turbo, ‘TwinPower’ V12 whilst sitting in absolute luxury.

BMW The Next 100 Years

Celebrating 100 years of the brand, BMW have decided that instead of looking back into the company’s illustrious history, they should instead look to the future. Using the 2016 Geneva Motor Show as a launch platform, BMW demonstrated their vision of the next 100 years with a car that can drive itself, shape-shift and drive with zero emissions.

Ferrari GTC4 Lusso

Picking up where the brilliant Ferrari FF left off, the all-new Ferrari GTC4 Lusso is a four-seat, four-wheel drive Grand Tourer like only Ferrari could create. Unveiled in the flesh at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the GTC4 Lusso brings together a fantastic Ferrari V12, versatility and elegance.

Jaguar F-Type SVR

Building upon Jaguar’s beautiful F-Type, the all-new F-Type SVR is the latest creation to come out of JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations department. Making their debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the F-type SVR coupe and convertible feature four-wheel drive, 567bhp and the capability to reach 200mph.

Lamborghini LP770-4 Centenario

Heading into the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, we were all aware that something special was planned for the centenary of Lamborghini founder, Ferruccio. Left with little more details than a name ‘LP770-4 Centenario’, our imaginations ran wild. Finally unveiled at Geneva, the limited run model is an entirely carbon salute to the incredible man who started the company.

Lexus LC500h

Showcasing beautiful design and marking a new era for the Lexus brand, the all-new LC500 is the latest luxury coupe to come out of Lexus. Unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the LC500 features a 5.0-litre V8 and goes from 0-60mph in less than 4.5 seconds.

Maserati Levante

The first car of its kind for the brand, Maserati chose the 2016 Geneva Motor Show to debut their SUV – Levante. Demonstrating aggressive yet beautiful styling that is typical of Maserati, Levante boasts the ability to always maintain 50/50 weight distribution and offer handling that is more comparable to a Maserati sports car than a 2000kg SUV.

McLaren 570GT

Taking the new McLaren ‘Sports Series’ range to a total of three models, the McLaren 570GT brings to the table 570S performance in an even more luxurious and versatile package. Unveiled for the first time at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the 570GT is a grand tourer that features a 350-litre boot, 562bhp and a 0-62mph time of 3.4 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet

Demonstrating sleek coupe styling and high performance, the 2016 Geneva Motor Show played host to the debut of Mercedes-Benz' all-new C-Class Cabriolet. Effortlessly combining performance and efficiency, the new C-Class Cabriolet will offer the choice of either a four or six cylinder engine.

Porsche 718 Boxster

Porsche 911 R

Sharing DNA with the sensational Porsche 911 GT3 RS, the all-new 911 R is a lightweight, manual, Porsche 911 that celebrates the visceral nature of a 911. Loved by the purists, the 911 R shares its badges with the 911 R of the late 60’s and uses a 493bhp 4.0-litre flat-six to go from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Rolls-Royce Black Badge

“Enter a world where the night is just the beginning…give in to the irresistible pull of the shadows” - That is how Rolls-Royce introduced their all-new ‘Black Badge’ models at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Black Badge sees the already excellent Ghost and Wraith undergo further treatment to become not only the ‘deepest, darkest and most intense black ever seen on a production car’ but also more luxurious and more powerful.

Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze Concept

Releasing multiple concepts at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen were keen to showcase their all-new open-top SUV Concept Car. Named T-Cross Breeze, this new convertible SUV demonstrates a look into the future of the brands range and design language.

Volkswagen up! 

Already well-established within the world of small cars, the 2016 Geneva Motor Show saw the debut of the face lifted Volkswagen up!. Set to be launched at the end of May, the new up! will come with a host of brand new technology and styling, as well as a special Beats edition.

Volvo V90

The 2016 Geneva Motor Show saw Volvo debut their beautiful new estate – V90. Boasting a whole host of features - such as semi-autonomous drive and Apple Car Play – the all-new Volvo V90 will feature a choice of four different engines (two petrol and two diesel) with the most powerful offering All-wheel drive.
