Restored 924 Martini wins the Marketing award at the PCGB Restoration Competition

At Silverstone Classic on the 30th July, the long awaited final of the Porsche Cars Great Britain Restoration Competition took place.

The 1977 924 Martini that Porsche Centre Silverstone and Elite Motors Bodyshop had restored was the oldest car in the competition and one of the rarest, with only 2 roadworthy in the UK.

The restoration was not without its challenges with a few troublesome parts failing to be located; the bodyshop took the challenge head on by 3D printing the Fuel Line Clips!

Everything was in working order in time for the competition, with the car even making a special trip to Le Mans to complete two racing parade laps on the 9th July. On the day of the competition, spectators could see footage of the 924 racing round the track as well as images of the car as the restoration progressed.

The culmination of the Restoration Project saw Porsche Centre Silverstone and Elite Motors Bodyshop awarded with the prize for the Marketing category, with mentions in the Technical and Overall winner’s categories also.

The team were over the moon with the achievement and are already looking forward to the next project.
