Porsche Centre Glasgow and Derek Bell
support Larbert High School

Porsche Centre Glasgow are currently supporting Larbert High School on their ‘F1 in Schools’ project. F1 in Schools is a World-class STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) competition open to pupils from ages 9-19. In teams of 6, the pupils go through the same processes as a real F1 team – from initial business plan to car design – developing a wide range of skills along the way. They design their model cars, manufacture them using CNC Routers and race along a 20m track. Winners of the National finals in March go on to the world finals – which next year are in Austin, Texas.

Team Slipstream attended our Porsche Classics launch at the start of March to try and drum up some more sponsorship and they also got to meet Derek Bell who used to race for Porsche. Derek showed great interest in their project and gave them some advice that could help them with their model etc.

At the beginning of April Team Slipstream qualified for the UK nationals at Silverstone, which takes place on 20th April. We wish them every success and we will be rooting for them.
