This week, we were delighted to be invited to Towcester Primary School’s Official Opening Ceremony of the School Bus. The project to restore the bus has been on-going for the past year and the once rundown double decker bus has now been made into a fantastic learning space for the children.
The bottom floor has benches for the children to conduct Science experiments, and the top floor has tables and chairs as a space for children to read. The whole bus is equipped with plug sockets for the teachers to plug in their laptops and even use an overhead projector! Roberts Electrical Services contributed their time to fit the sockets, lighting and heating which make the bus a perfect learning environment.
Earlier this year, Porsche Centre Silverstone started raising money for the Bus Project through a sponsored walk up Mount Snowdon, which a team of ten staff accomplished, raising the money to pay for the electrical work on the bus. Through various other activities, such as a bake sale in the Centre, and a raffle at the School’s fete, Porsche Centre Silverstone were also able to fund the artwork on the side of the bus. After a competition in the school, two winning designs were chosen which would then be made into banners for the bus by K9 Signs.
To see the bus now completed and ready for the children to start enjoying was a real pleasure and they even asked Emma, our Marketing Controller, to cut the ribbon to officially declare the Bus open for learning.
