102EX at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manchester

102EX; The Electric Powered Phantom

A handful of customers were invited to experience the 102EX, the first fully electric powered Phantom on 17th June 2011; a car that represents one of the most significant initiatives taken by Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in recent years

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars strive for perfection to create the best motor cars in the world. It is this inherent forward thinking nature that has led to the development of the alternative drive-train technology available in the 102EX, Phantom Experimental Electric (EE).

Reinvention is part of being timeless and Phantom EE is the latest in a line of experimental vehicles from Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. It builds on a legacy which dates back to 1919 and 1EX.

With this in mind, on Friday 17th June 2011, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Manchester invited a handful of customers to celebrate the past, present and the possible future of this grand marque, and help answer a question that could determine the future direction of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Quite simply, can an all-electric drive-train deliver an authentic Rolls-Royce experience and would it meet the needs of our customers?

Customers were amazed at the performance of 102EX combined with absolutely no compromise on the luxury and craftmanship inherent to the brand and following their drive in the vehicle they indulged in a beautiful barbeque provided by Great John Street Hotel.
