ALTEA XL S A point to note The new Altea XL S is a car that takes as much notice of the little details as it does of the big ones. For instance, there are eight different engines to choose from. Besides an additional 123 litres of interior, ergonomic space, the Altea XL Ecomotive perfectly combines high standards in style and technology with a new level of efficiency. A new gearshift indicator tells you exactly when to change gears, while a Start/Stop system keeps emissions and fuel consumption low by switching off the engine when the vehicle isn't moving, and restarting it once the journey resumes. To cut waste, an Energy Recuperation system recovers the energy produced by the alternator, reducing fuel consumption every time you slow down. Thanks to more green thinking in the performance department, the new Altea XL Ecomotive comes with a 1.6TDI 105 PS Common Rail engine and standard Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). ALTEA XL SE It's always in the way that you carry yourself SE by name and nature is not just a way you dress - It's a way to choose things. The new Altea XL SE bears this in mind, and moves on to the rest. There are new front bumpers, new chromed grilles, a smoother tailgate and fitted rear lights, tinted windows and folding and heatable mirrors with electric park position. For tactile reasons the Altea XL SE comes with a new gearshift knob and three spokes multi-functional leather steering wheel which features paddles with DSG (except in the TDI 105PS). It also has a new Dual Zone Climate Control, a Combined USB port and Aux in (CUP) and a new radio CD MP3 with 6 speakers. And then there are some touches to give the SE its name - like its 16'' Enea alloy wheels, the easy-on-the-eye white instrument illumination and the new exterior glass front lamps, seats with height and lumbar adjustment and cruise control. And last but not least - for that candle-in-the-window-feeling - a Coming Home function, which leaves the headlights on for enough time for you to get out of the car, find your keys, and get into your house.
