smarter than the average bear.
Brizzley kicks-off new season in style.
Bristol Rugby Club’s mascot, Brizzley, has proved once again that he is quite literally ‘smarter’ than the average bear.
smart of Bristol has ensured that the city’s most famous bear is not bare for the new Premiership campaign after agreeing to sponsor the cuddly character’s kit for the second season in succession.
Brizzley will be wearing his new strip featuring the Cribbs Causeway retailer’s logo for the first time on Sunday, when Bristol face local rivals Bath at the Memorial Ground.
“Brizzley is a care bear that’s for sure as he knows smart is one of the greenest cars on the road thanks to its recyclable body panels and low emissions,” said Mike Fellows, Managing Director of smart and Mercedes-Benz of Bristol.
“And he’s certainly not a bear with a sore head but a wise one as he knows that this is a great time to be associated with smart,” he added. “National sales of smarts have already rocketed by 135 per cent compared to this time last year and the car’s appeal is set to increase next spring with the arrival of a diesel model that will boast the lowest CO2 emissions of any current production car worldwide and return a staggering 85.6mpg on the combined fuel cycle.
” Commenting on the sponsorship on Brizzley’s behalf, Corin Palmer, Bristol Rugby Club’s General Manager, added: “Maintaining his association with such an iconic and environmentally-friendly brand as smart has certainly put a spring in Brizzley’s step and he is raring to go for the new season.”
