Technicians earn Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA)
Toyota World Solihull Technicians Tony Power, Andy Boots and Simon Butler have received their photo identity cards and certificates as ATA Members. The three local technicians have each put themselves through a voluntary assessment programme, to enable them to be identified across the retail motor industry as properly trained technicians and highly skilled professionals.
Toyota World Solihull Aftersales Manager Lee McPhee said,” Toyota fully endorse the ATA programme, alongside many other vehicle manufacturers and independent service and repair associations. The qualification is recognised nationally and all ATA technicians are bound by a special code of conduct. We are particularly proud of Tony, Andy and Simon as the programme shows a positive attitude and great tenacity in seeking to be the best. We are also pleased to let our customers know that they can have complete confidence in the skills and experience of our team. ”
Automotive Technician Accreditation is governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and there are major benefits for consumers, technicians and employers including;
- Consumer confidence in ATA trained technicians and the organisations employing them.
- Proof of technical competence and professional responsibility
- A benchmark for technician recruitment and training.
All technicians employed by Toyota World Solihull will now complete this assessment as part of their ongoing training and development programme.
