Toyota GT 86...Rediscover the joy of driving!
Entirely driver focused with a large emphasis on fun. Let us introduce the new GT 86.
Engine
Toyota's all new sports car combines the impressive pull of its 200 DIN hp 2.0 litre engine with a kerb weight of just 1,180kg. The result is a hugely engaging drive: a vehicle that can be driven as an extension of the driver's body. This is a true sports car, and one that can be enjoyed every day.
Striking Design
The taut, aerodynamic exterior design says so much from a distance, but it's up close that the full character of the GT 86 comes to the fore. Special 17" alloy wheels feature the exclusive '86' piston logo, while the rear spoiler, LED daytime running lamps, high-intensity discharge headlamps and dual exhausts finished in chrome enhance an already powerful presence.
Inside, sports seats deliver the perfect driving position. The simple, bold instrument cluster encircles a large tachometer. And styling details include carbon-effect trim, aviation-style rocker switches and lightweight aluminium pedals.
On board, the critical driver touch-points of the steering wheel, gearshift and switches are natural, instinctive and rewarding. For example, the buckskin-trimmed wheel has a 365mm diameter, making it the smallest ever fitted to a Toyota, for a truly involving driver experience.
GT 86 will also feature the innovative Toyota Touch as standard.
Ultra Compact
The GT 86 is 4,240mm long, 1,285mm high and 1,775mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2,570mm, making it the most compact four-seater sports car available today.
Both the powertrain and the driver’s seat have been set as low and as far back as possible, for a near-perfect 53:47 front-to-rear weight balance and an ultra-low 460mm centre of gravity.
The GT 86 makes the most of a light kerb weight, making it easy for the driver to exploit its nimble handling. The suspension features MacPherson struts at the front and double wishbones at the rear, with ventilated disc brakes fore and aft.
