Economic Volkswagen Golf pleases fuel savers
News brought to you by Sytner Group, specialists in new Volkswagens and the UK's leading retailer of prestige vehicles.
The new Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI Match has received a number of positive reviews for its economic take on life.
Motoring.co.uk said that cost-conscious fuel savers are now "grinning like Cheshire cats" as the new model now achieves 49.6 miles per gallon on the urban cycle and 62.8 on the combined setting.
It can reach 62mph in 11.3 seconds, while a tenth of a second is shaved off this in the smooth seven-speed DSG automatic transmission version.
The top speed is as high as 117mph, which is on the same scale as the Ford Focus 1.6TDCI Studio, according to the news provider.
"As well as creditable fuel economy and decent performance, the Golf 1.6 TDI Match is nicely equipped. Standard specification, as available on both three and five-door variants, includes four electric windows, seven air-bags, electronic stability control, air-conditioning, and a dust/pollen filter for allergy suffers," it added.
Earlier this week, What Car? named the Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDI as its Green Car of the Year.
