Change of ownership at Lightcliffe Volkswagen as Sytner acquires one of the North's largest Volkswagen franchise groups

Sytner Group PLC is delighted to announce the acquisition of Lightcliffe Volkswagen, one of the North's largest Volkswagen franchise groups.

Lightcliffe's Volkswagen showrooms based in Halifax, Liverpool, Stafford, Stoke and Warrington will revert back their previous location names, whilst the North Wales Volkswagen showroom will retain it's name.

Sytner, who represent 20 prestige manufacturers in over 100 showrooms across the UK, already own 4 other Volkswagen retailers in Yorkshire and have a long history with VAG group brands dating back to the 1990s.

The company was originally founded by brothers Alan and Frank Sytner in 1968. After 2 British Touring Car Championship wins in 1988 and 1990, motorsport enthusiast Frank decided to focus his competitive energy on building the business and within 7 years, Sytner was floated on the Stock Exchange after taking on brands such as Audi, Ferrari, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

Volkswagen Franchise Director Rob Scaife said, “The change of ownership is fantastic news for both staff and customers of Lightcliffe Volkswagen. Sytner’s heritage and reputation in the industry is second to none and we’re looking forward to offering even better customer service combined with Volkswagen’s renowned value for money.”

“We are all looking forward to building upon the relationship built by the current team and invite our newly adopted valued customers to join our group Facebook page, “Sytner Volkswagen” for the latest news offers and updates from their local Volkswagen team.”
