A NIGHT FOR THE LADIES - Benefit Evening for the "Raise the Roof Appeal"

A fabulous Ladies Night was hosted by Guy Salmon Thames Ditton on December 3rd at the showrooms on Portsmouth Road. Dealer Principal, David Edwards commented "historically customer loyalty days and events have tended to involve masculine activities and therefore appealed to our male customers, however we sell family cars and a great deal of ladies visit the showroom and purchase cars so this was an evening designed for them".

The benefit evening was to raise funds for the Thames Ditton Girl Guides. Two years ago Guy Salmon adopted the Guide Hut Appeal as their community cause and so far we has raised about £2,500 in all, including the Ladies' Night, raffle prizes and car washes for which staff have given up their precious free time.

Ladies' Night featured hair and beauty specialist Jackie McCulloch, children's clothes by Lottie & Thomas and a stunning fashion show by trendy boutique, Question Air of Wimbledon. Drinks were served by gentlemen from the Guy Salmon Sales team there were delicious cakes from Bachmann's, six times winners of the industry award for best patisserie in England, and delicious canapés from Lime Tree Deli.

The occasion raised some £300 from voluntary donations on the door, the guides were on hand and worked hard, serving food, taking coats and welcoming guests as they arrived.

Guy Salmon are delighted to have contributed to the fund raising for such an important part of the community and look forward to seeing the progress and renovations to the hut. An exhibition of plans for the Guide Hut was staged last Saturday morning, and was posted through the letterboxes of neighbours; no objections to the plans were raised. To complete the works will cost in the region of £90,000 of which over £30,000 has so far been raised and it is hoped that even in these cash-strapped times, once plans are officially approved more funds can be secured from various public or charitable bodies by way of grants.
