Guy Salmon Land Rover Coventry Supports the PDSA
Guy Salmon Land Rover Coventry has raised £500 for the Coventry PDSA
Coventry-based Guy Salmon Land Rover has donated £500 to the city’s PDSA PetAid hospital, to help support veterinary care for the pets of owners in need.
PDSA, the UK’s leading veterinary charity, says the equipment bought from the donation will benefit hundreds of dogs, cats and other pets. It includes table-top scales for smaller animals, cordless clippers and magnifying glasses for operating.
Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Kurt Vandamme, said: “We are extremely grateful for the kind donation received from Guy Salmon Land Rover Coventry - support from our local community is very rewarding. On behalf of the staff here at Coventry PDSA PetAid hospital, I would like to say a big thank you. This equipment will go towards helping many sick and injured pets.”
Guy Salmon Land Rover Coventry Managing Director, David Martin, met hospital staff and was given a guided tour of the busy facility on Barker Butts Lane. He said: “PDSA does excellent work, more than I ever imagined. I am amazed by the dedication and skill the staff showed. Without them many people would be unable to have their pets treated for a wide range of problems. Visiting the hospital allowed me to see first-hand the valuable work the charity carries out.”
PDSA provides free veterinary care to the animals of people who are unable to afford private veterinary fees. Coventry PDSA PetAid hospital first opened in 1937 and is one of 43 PetAid hospitals throughout the UK.
PDSA PetAid services are entirely dependent on public support, mainly through donations and legacies. Last year, Coventry PDSA PetAid hospital cost over £700,000 to run, with over 35,000 free treatments provided. The PetAid hospital consists of five consulting rooms, two operating theatres, one dental suite, recovery kennels, plus X-ray and isolation facilities.
