Land Rover Ascot sponsor the Land Rover National Cup
On the Saturday 7th March, Guy Salmon was present at the Redingensians RFC to support the Land Rover National cup.
This series of tournaments are taking place throughout the country in conjunction with Premiership Rugby Clubs and Land Rover. Land Rover has a long standing association with Rugby at all levels including national and club level. This tournament is a perfect example of how Land Rover is also getting involved at grass root level.
This programme targets U11-U12 age groups and if the rugby on display is anything to go by, then this will be a tough competition to win! The finals are to be played at Twickenham before the Premiership Final in May. The Winners of both age groups will go to Twickenham, the home of English Rugby, and enjoy a rare opportunity to play on the hallowed turf.
Perfect running rugby was the order of the day, Redingensians pitches were in perfect condition for this and the spectators were treated to some good rugby. Quick ball at the breakdown found space out wide for some good open play and produced some good individual skills.
Guy Salmon Ascot sponsored this round in partnership with the organisation of London Irish. There was a good display of the Land Rover range at the event including Premier Rugby's Range Rover Sport, with logos of all premiership clubs displayed on its paintwork.
London Irish were there to run the tournament and two of their professional players came along to hand out medals and trophies, along with Mark Holman from Guy Salmon Ascot Service Department.
Great fun for all on the day and lots of happy young players, in a fun and enjoyable environment, which is exactly what this tournament and development at this level is all about.
