The Ultimate Ski Machines raise £5,000 for SKILLFORCE.
Introducing 'The Ultimate Skiing Machine' - the finest collection of Motor Trade Athletes you will ever come across.
The team comprised of Tim Abbott (Managing Director at BMW UK), Richard Berry (MD of Sytner High Wycombe BMW MINI), Peter Brookes, Mick Donovan and Will Le Fevre - together accounting for over 50 years of experience on the piste. With bodies honed to perfection, they raised £5,000 for SKILLFORCE in the UK by participating in the Coeur Blanc 2012 Ski Challenge. Not only did they raise a significant amount of money but came 3rd out of the 20 teams competing in the competition.
Coeur Blanc was established in 2008, and requires a team of skiers to complete a full journey on every ski lift in the Meribel Valley in a single day. That is 52 ski lifts and requires non stop fast skiing for approximately 8 hours - the only relief being the ski lift rides. It is not a race, just a test of endurance!
SKILLFORCE is a charity dedicated to building the aspirations of, and educational attainment of, disadvantaged young people. It uses ex-servicemen as instructors. HRH Duke of Cambridge is the Royal Patron of the charity. More information is available on www.skillforce.org
For every £1 donated, a further £1 will be added to the total raised via donations received directly from the schools which benefit.
The Private Equity Foundation (PEF) was established in 2006 to support children and young people in reaching their full potential. PEF deploys financial and pro bono skills from the private equity community to support a range of charities, such as SKILLFORCE, to help maximise their social impact.
PEF will monitor SKILLFORCE'S input and outcomes to ensure funds are invested in long term sustainable projects. PEF works with SKILLFORCE'S management team, supported by pro bono experts, to ensure as many children and young people as possible can be reached with maximum impact on their lives.- Return to listings
