Sytner Mercedes-Benz staff put their best foot forward to raise around £800 for Meningitis UK's 'Search 4 a Vaccine' campaign.

Mercedes-Benz of Bath's Mark Beddow, Michaela Harris, Charlie Maddox and Martin Wiltshire joined Mike Fellows, Mercedes-Benz of Swindon's Managing Director, for the charity's 14-mile summer stroll. Proceeds from sponsorship will fund vital research into eradicating Meningitis B, the most common form of the disease.

For the second year running, Mercedes-Benz of Bath and Mercedes-Benz of Bristol were associate sponsors of the event, which saw more than 200 people walk between the two cities.

Apart from the Sytner team, amongst those most 'fired' up to take part in the stroll was Lorraine Tighe, who finished third in the recent BBC TV series 'The Apprentice'. She was inspired to take part after her daughter contracted meningitis but thankfully survived.

Commenting on the day, Steve Dayman, Meningitis UK's Chief Executive, said: "It's fantastic that companies like Mercedes-Benz of Bath and Bristol and other local firms and their employees are supporting the summer stroll and its hard-working organisers. Their involvement is crucial to the event's ongoing success and enabling us to continue our vital work towards finding a vaccine and saving lives".
