A Brave Team Takes To The Water...

Some months ago an idea to kayak from Leicester to London (it was only 140 miles), to raise money for The Sytner Group Head Office charity (Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance - DLRAA) was taken up by some very brave Corporate team members and one brave soul from Group Accounts.   

After training hard to prepare themselves, the day soon arrived! 

On Thursday 14th October at 7am the team took to the canal waters to Kayak from Leicester to Limehouse Basin Canary Wharf by Sunday 17th October.   

After four days of paddling an average of 10 hours per day, the (by now) very cold and wet team reached Limehouse at 3.00pm on Sunday afternoon; with a huge sigh of relief – they made it!

Speaking to team captain Vince Floyd (Director of Corporate Sales) after the challenge, all he would tell us was “There are definitely lots of tales but what happens on tour, stays on tour.”  ?!

The team have raised almost £6000 and money is still being donated. 

A big thank you goes out to all those who helped organise and support the team.  This is a great achievement – Well Done!
