Sytner Group kick starts work with Leicestershire Cares and fundraising for LOROS
Each year the team at Sytner Group head office vote for a charity to support for the next year.
Past charities include our local Air Ambulance and MacMillan cancer support. Fundraising activities have included everything from cycling challenges, BBQ’s, Kayaking from Leicester to London to a 24 hour football club marathon!

Voting this year was exceptionally close between local charity LOROS (the Leicestershire and Rutland Organisation for the Relief of Suffering) and Leicestershire Cares so the team decided that the fairest decision was to support both charities over the next year!
At Sytner head office the fundraising has already started with the monthly dress down day on the last Friday of each month. Cakes were made and sold for the Queens Diamond Jubilee, always a good idea that everyone enjoys – whether they are baking or eating! More events and fundraising ideas are being planned for the rest of the year.
Local charity LOROS helps provide care and support to all local people in Leicestershire and Rutland who require terminal care, respite care, pain relief, symptom control or assessment.
The hospice provides skilled nurses and medical care, supported by physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers, recognising the particular needs of patients and their families. No fees are charged for its services and they rely on support from individuals, organisations and groups as well as trusts and the business community of Leicestershire and Rutland.
Leicestershire Cares brings businesses and communities together through employee volunteering. This is done by providing volunteering opportunities for companies looking to get involved with the community and can include activities such as supporting pupils with literacy, numeracy and employability skills to providing support for communities through practical group projects.
The Sytner Group Franchise Operating Board rolled up their sleeves first to help paint rooms for Dyslexia Action in Leicester city centre.
Geoffrey our Operations Director said “We got involved as One Team to help make a difference with our local community. Leicestershire Cares is an organisation that helps disadvantaged people who live in the Leicester area and as a successful local company we wanted to support and help them by giving something back.
At the end of the day – whilst we did have some fun – we all felt we had made a difference and that is a great feeling
The team here at HQ think they did a fantastic job! Take a look at these before and after photos – well done guys!
