Sytner Group has once again achieved third position in the ‘25 Best Big Companies to Work For’ 2012 guide; The Sunday Times’ annual assessment of employee engagement.

Sytner Group has achieved 3rd position, in the “25 Best Big Companies to Work For” 2012 guide in the Sunday Times’ annual assessment of employee engagement, for the third year running.  The UK’s leading prestige motor retail group is the only company in the UK to have maintained a top six position for five years in succession, in a league dominated by high street retailers and blue chip corporations.  They have also accelerated from 2nd to 1st position in the ‘My Company’ category and improved its ‘Wellbeing’ position from 5th to 3rd.

The Sytner Group, which consists of more that 150 dealerships, aims to delight not only it’s customers, but also its employees.  The results of the Sunday Times staff satisfaction survey suggest the company is not falling short on its mission.  Employees are passionate about the marques they represent.  They love their jobs and are proud to work for the company, winning positive scores of 76% and 82%, both top three results. 
No other employees on the big list have more positive views of their company in the set questions called My Company (81%).  Sytner display strong leadership, excellent working conditions, good rewards and plenty of opportunities for staff to develop professionally.

Employees believe they can make a valuable contribution to the success of the company (84%) as well as a difference within it (81%) and are excited about where it is going (75%).  Their enthusiasm is demonstrated by the response rate, which has increased from 62% to 71% compared with last year – their best response rate yet! 

All 5,232 staff, particularly managers, are encouraged to live by a five-point framework which involves ensuring there are weekly team briefings and management meetings, monthly one-to-one reviews, and newsletters. 
Staff have a great deal of faith in senior managers who truly live the company’s values (74%).  Staff are satisfied that they have the support they need to provide a great service (75%). 

Sytner provides a budget for social events and more than 4,000 staff helped to raise money for good causes last year.  Benefits for employees, almost half of whom have put in at least five years’ service, include performance-related pay, staff discounts, an employee car scheme and a contributory pension.
