4 men, 3 bikes, 1 van, 520 miles, 22,460 feet of ascent…and no satnav!

Starting on Sunday 13th September, Mark Carpenter - Sytner Group Finance Director, along with two colleagues - Adam Jordan and John Buchan cycled from our northernmost dealership in Edinburgh to our southernmost dealership in Portsmouth and completed this journey over six gruelling days - with the aim of raising £50,000 for MacMillan. Each dealership that they visited held a fundraising event as they arrived.
None of us will need reminding of the great work of MacMillan Cancer Support – regrettably most of us will have been touched at some time by knowing someone with cancer.

Audi and Volkswagen Harrogate - Tuesday 15th SeptemberTo support the Sytner fundraising bike ride Harrogate Audi held its own charity day in aid of Macmillan cancer support. They ran a ‘design a car’ competition in conjunction with a local school, of which there were three winners who all won a new bike. Their team also had a ‘cycle off’ between Harrogate Audi & Harrogate VW, with the winners being the dealership clocking the most miles in a day on the static exercise bikes. VW won 167k to 163k! The dealership also held raffles, quizzes & lucky dips throughout the day; with the dealership open to the public as a coffee stop! |
