When Aston Martin’s flagship – Vanquish – was released, it demonstrated everything that was required for a car to be the ultimate Grand Tourer. Now, however, building upon the car’s success and astonishing performance, Aston Martin have taken Vanquish to the next level with the Vanquish S.
Demonstrating sharper handling, greater potency and further evolution of design, Vanquish S has been carefully honed to deliver more intense thrills.
Sharing in the same timeless styling as its sibling, Vanquish S is instantly recognisable due to an all-new aerodynamic package. Consisting of a revised front splitter and aggressive rear diffuser, this package is fashioned from bare carbon fibre and offers genuine ability when it comes to a reduction in frontal lift and additional downforce.
Complementing the added aggression of the aerodynamic package, Vanquish S now features quad exhaust outlets which sit nestled in the new rear diffuser. Combined with the sleek muscular silhouette of the car, it is plain to see that Vanquish S truly is the ultimate expression of what it means to be a Super GT car.
Those who wish to make their Vanquish S a little more bespoke will be pleased to know that there are a range of new options to help enhance the exterior of their car. Options include new carbon fibre bonnet louvres, stunning new wheel options and new graphics packs that are designed to accentuate and compliment the exquisite lines of the front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser.
In order to achieve S specification, the engineering team of Vanquish S have paid meticulous attention to tweaking the engine and chassis. Still powered by a sensational 6.0-litre V12 engine, Vanquish S now features 600PS (up from 573PS) and relishes in even faster throttle response thanks to a revised intake system.
The already fantastic 8-speed Touchtronic III transmission also remains but has itself seen revisions and calibration. Featuring even further refinement than that of Vanquish’s transmission, the gearbox now delivers even faster gear changes and greater precision – helping Vanquish S to achieve 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 201mph.
Further tweaks have occurred when it comes to Vanquish S’ suspension, damper internals, spring rates and anti-roll bar bushes to ensure that this truly is a car that offers not only extreme luxury but also uncompromised performance when called upon. This second generation Vanquish further strengthens the sporting traits that were inherent in the previous generation.
Stepping into the cabin of Vanquish S, occupants are treated a luxurious interior that features only the finest materials and the handcrafted quality that you would expect from Aston Martin. As with the exterior of the car, carbon fibre has found its way into the cabin in the form of an optional carbon fibre centre console panel.
Ensuring that each and every owner can create a Vanquish S that is bespoke to them, a host of interior options are available. To begin, there is a choice of glorious new ‘Filograph’ quilted leather, sumptuous Bridge of Weir Caithness leather and the use of all-new materials and finishes. Every Vanquish S comes with Alcantara as standard and Vanquish S embroidery on the headrests.
Offering control over Vanquish S’ entertainment and updated Satellite navigation system, Aston Martin have fitted their intuitive AMi III infotainment system. Easily controlled and navigated, the system brings command over beautifully crisp Bang & Olufsen audio, Bluetooth hands-free technology and vehicle status information.
