Throughout history, Aston Martin has seen no end of success in the world of motorsport; gaining countless titles in both GT3 & GT4 and even taking 1st place at Le Mans 24 hours in 1959. Born through the intensity of GT racing and the motorsport blood that runs in the veins of the company, the Vantage GT8 takes this heritage and blends a race-proven V8 engine with complete aerodynamic efficiency to become the ultimate expression of a V8 Vantage.
Strictly limited to just 150 coupes, the Vantage GT8 is a special edition Vantage that offers drivers a unique package of incredible sports car driveability and the thrills of a racing car.
Demonstrating strong racing DNA, the Vantage GT8 finds obvious inspiration from the 2016 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE race car.
Dramatically sculpted for aerodynamic ability, the carbon fibre bodywork of the Vantage GT8 has been thoughtfully designed with drivability in mind. As such, the wider track, front splitter, rear diffuser and optional large rear wing have all been crafted in such a way that they channel and manipulate the air that flows over the car to maximum aerodynamic effect.
Further ensuring optimal performance on both road and track, the Vantage GT8 comes as standard with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. These fantastic tyres offer the driver almost endless levels of grip and can be worn by either 5-spoke alloy wheels or optional ultra-lightweight seven-spoke centre-lock magnesium rims.
Strengthening the Vantage GT8’s aesthetic of performance and pedigree even further, three optional ‘Halo’ paint schemes are available alongside a host of other colour and personalisation options.
Utilising a revised version of Aston Martin’s naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V8 heart, the Vantage GT8 produces 440bhp and 361lb ft of torque. Fed through either a six-speed manual or seven-speed SportshiftTM II paddle-shift transmission, the incredible power grants the Vantage GT8 a 0-60mph sprint of just 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 190mph.
Inspired by motorsport from nose to tail, the Vantage GT8 uses its power in harmony with the race-bred aerodynamics package to offer the driver levels of agility and cornering composure that are reminiscent of its racing car siblings.
Further aiding the car’s sensational ability, Aston Martin’s engineers have worked tirelessly to reduce the Vantage GT8’s weight and have ultimately managed to make the Vantage GT8 up to 100kgs lighter – should the optional weight saving measures be specified. With all of the lightweight options fitted to the car, Vantage GT8 is the lightest Vantage ever made.
Whilst the Vantage GT8 may have been designed and honed through Aston Martin’s experience out on track, they haven’t compromised the car’s usability on public roads.
With the offer of air-conditioning, a 160w audio system and Aston Martin’s latest Ami III infotainment system, the Vantage GT8 remains equally at home on both the public road and the race track.
As with the exterior, the interior has undergone a series of changes to reflect the motorsports heritage of the car. Featuring an entirely carbon fibre centre stack and Alcantara across the dashboard & steering wheel, the interior of the Vantage GT8 manages to remain track-focused whilst also retaining the comfort and ergonomics of the rest of the Vantage family.
