In an exciting Facebook live broadcast, Aston Martin have finally unveiled the long awaited next generation of their illustrious Aston Martin Vantage.
An iconic name that has been within the Aston Martin brand since 1951, the all-new Vantage brings new design language, a new power unit and even more spectacular performance to the table. Talking of the importance of Vantage Dr Andy Palmer, Aston Martin CEO, said:
“It speaks volumes for the outgoing Vantage that it is the single most successful model in Aston Martin’s history. Creating a worthy successor has been a challenge to relish and a huge source of motivation. I’m enormously excited by what we’ve created: a new Vantage that’s more explicit in looks and intent, wrapping heart-pounding performance and dazzling dynamics into an everyday usable package. A true sports car with a sharper look and a keener dynamic edge, the new Vantage is the Aston Martin pure driving machine enthusiasts have been waiting for.”
Looking at the new Vantage for the first time, you’re instantly struck by the bold design that is both aggressive and beautiful in equal measures. The front end demonstrates an evolved version of the front end styling that we saw on Aston Martin’s outrageous Vulcan track-only car whilst the proportions and silhouette are similar to the DB10 that was specially made for James Bond. It truly is a stunning looking machine.
As you’d expect, the design of the car has been led by aerodynamics and performance, meaning that the front splitter, elements under the car and the rear diffuser all work together to ensure that Vantage develops the highest level of downforce possible.
Power comes from a new alloy, 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that is seated far back within the car to ensure 50:50 weight distribution. Producing a total of 510ps and 685nm of torque, this fantastic new engine feeds all of its power to the rear wheels and will take Vantage from 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph.
Along with Dynamic Stability Control and Dynamic Torque Vectoring to assist handling, this is the first Aston Martin Vantage to include an Electronic Rear Differential (E-Diff). Aston Martin say that, unlike traditional differentials, this incredible E-Diff can go from fully open to 100% locked in just a couple of milliseconds – therefore meaning an extreme level of control for the driver.
Completing this incredible package of striking design, extreme power and exquisite handling, the interior of the new Vantage has been made to combine focused sports car with comfort. As such, the driving position is lower to create a more immersive driving experience whilst the materials used are are luxurious and constructed with the level of craftsmanship that you would expect.
Amongst the sea of fine leather and Alcantara, Aston Martin have implemented standard equipment that comprises of everything from the infotainment system that is displayed on an 8” LCD screen to tyre pressure monitoring, parking distance display and park assist at the front and rear.
