The A5 Sportback wows with its redrawn lines, refreshed technology and renewed engine line-up. It has high-quality design inside and out and boasts a striking long roof line and a great feeling of space and flexibility for everyday use. Thanks to the large interior it has plenty of room for all the family and visually, the feeling of space is underlined by the horizontally designed elements and the updated centre console. The wide air inlets and chrome clips give the front of the A5 Sportback even more sharpness and the optional 20-inch cast aluminium wheels are emphasized by the highlighted wheel arches. The Audi A5 Sportback can also be customised with the advanced and S line design packages.
The A5 Sportback has grown in length by 24 millimetres (0.9 in) with the update and now measures 4,757 millimetres (15.6ft). The A5 is unchanged with respect to width and height. The Sportback is 1,843 millimetres (6.0 ft) wide and 1,398 millimetres (4.6 ft) high. The wheelbase is also unchanged at 2,824 millimetres (9.3 ft). In the updated A5, you can pick between three different headlights with even the basic version using the latest LED technology, the exception being the turn signals. LEDs mounted behind a lens emit fully automatic high and low beams. The Matrix LED headlights work to illuminate the road without blinding other road users.
From the wide range of infotainment systems to the driver assist systems, the new A5 is brilliantly connected, full of state-of-the-art technology. Similar to the experience of using the latest smartphone is the MMI touch operating system. The MMI touch technology brings Audi into the digital age, instead of the rotary push bottom, operation is now done via a large touch display with acoustic feedback. It has a diagonal of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 1,540 x 720 pixels. The graphics are clean, reduced and easy to understand making operation very intuitive.
The Audi music interface with USB and Bluetooth connection is part of the standard MMI radio. The optional Audi smartphone interface brings Apple Car Play and Android Auto to the vehicle, helping you stay even more connected. The Audi phone box connects the smartphone to the vehicle’s antenna and can charge it inductively. All new technology also makes navigation easier, it suggests routes based on routes that have previously been driven and uses a number of online services such as traffic sign and hazard information.
