''The BMW 330e has not only been named the best executive car that you can buy, but it's also been named What Car?s' best Plug-In Hybrid of the Year 2020. It gets a really usefully long electric range and it gives you a real sense of connection to the road in a way that now of its rivals can. Not to mention, the low C02 emissions also make it a very tempting alternative for company car buyers instead of the more traditional petrol and diesel versions of the 3 Series. If you're worried this plug-in hybrid version won't be as much fun to drive as regular petrol or diesel versions of the 3 Series, then you really needn't be because unless you had the two cars back to back on a race track, your'd honestly struggle to tell the difference.

It grips really hard, it stays flat through the corners, and it has the same great steering that every other 3 Series has. With a fully charged battery in real-world driving you'll get at least 25 miles on pure battery power.

Even when the electric power run out, it still efficient, returning more than 37mpg in our hands and with 288bhp available, you won't have any trouble keeping up with faster traffic. If you do put your foot down hard the 330e can actually do 0-60mph in around about 6 seconds, so its actually as fast as the 330i petrol model. Its relaxed and composed on faster roads - key attributes if you'll be spending a lot of time on the motorway.''
