Discover a more versatile side to the ultimate driver’s car with the BMW 3 Series Touring. Offering sublime handling, intelligent storage solutions, next-level connectivity and a new athletic design language, it opens up the journey to amazing possibilities.
Thirty two years on from the debut of the first ever BMW 3 Series Touring, the new edition of the five-door 3 Series brings a compelling and seamless blend of driving pleasure and functional appeal to the premium midsize class.
Since its launch in 1987, more than 1.7 million examples of the 3 Series Touring have hit the roads, with the new car’s immediate predecessor alone accounting for more than 500,000 of these.
The new 3 Series Touring will have latest-generation engines and new chassis technology to provide improvements in performance and handling, while intelligent equipment features optimise versatility both in everyday use and on trips away. It also includes the new BMW design language, a refined interior and innovations in control/operation and connectivity.
In line with the latest BMW 3 Series Saloon, the BMW 3 Series Touring comes with immersive design features such as ambient lighting, a Light Carpet upon entry, three-zone air conditioning, heated M Sport seats and stunning Vernasca leather as standard with Sport and M Sport models, and an optional panoramic sunroof. However, in addition to this is a layer of practicality that makes it ideal for everyday adventures, from its generous boot space and flexible 40:20:40 split seating to the many handy luggage solutions.
A fully automated tailgate as standard, which can be operated via remote control and hands-free opening in conjunction with the optional Comfort Access.
Even in the tightest of spaces, the new rear screen opens independently for quick and easy access.
And thanks to the innovative optional Anti-Slip Rail System, which automatically creates friction with packed luggage, bags and suitcases are now less likely to slide in the boot.
The BMW 3 Series Touring makes driving so simple. Intuitive technology such as the new Intelligent Personal Assistant, which learns and remembers driver behaviour, ensures that trips are seamlessly integrated with your everyday life. Combine this with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional’s 12.3" instrument display and 10.25" high-resolution Control Display, fitted as standard on the M Sport and M Sport Plus Edition models, for easier and more enjoyable journeys.
Thanks to the new Drive Recorder and the synchronisation of rear / front cameras and two side mirror cameras, the car can now record up to 20 seconds of video footage automatically both before and after an accident. It can also be activated by the driver to record footage on demand at any time should they wish. Available through the Parking Assistant Plus package, it offers drivers a 360-degree view around the car and possibly a very eye-opening piece of information.
To accentuate the athletic look and feel, which boasts aerodynamic contours, the BMW 3 Series Touring also has a reduction in weight of up to 10kg. This not only helps deliver greater agility, but also reduces emissions. What’s more, with tightened suspension and a 25% more rigid body, sportier handling can now be felt in every turn of the wheel.
