For the sixth year in a row, Guy Salmon Sheffield has been loaning The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust a Land Rover Discovery to use over the winter period.
The Trust’s Estates team will use the vehicle to ensure they are able to get to the hospital to keep the grounds free from snow and ice during the spells of bad weather ensuring patients can access our services.
Key staff will also be able to use the Land Rover as a form of transport into work to treat patients, in the event that there are no other forms of transport available.
Scott Dickinson, Head of Estates Services at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We’re really grateful to Guy Salmon for their ongoing support to the Trust during winter. Their generosity helps us to keep the hospital open and our grounds safe for patients, visitors and our colleagues.
“Having the Land Rover available during the winter months is also reassuring because it means we have a reliable, alternative way of getting key colleagues into work if no other methods of transport are available.
“We have already seen the first snowfall of the year this week and the Land Rover was incredibly useful in helping members of our Estates on-call team get into the hospital during the night and treat the grounds reliably and safely.”
