The Divisional management team are set a challenge.. and this time it's not to sell cars!

Acorns have three hospices in the West Midlands that provide respite care to children and their families. The team spent time at the hospice in Birmingham who have 270 children and families that use the services they provide. They provide respite care to children and support to parents and siblings.

The hospice has a shutdown week each year to allow staff the opportunity to complete additional training and staff and volunteers to do a complete paint and clean of the hospice. The Hospice relies on volunteers to support the staff with some members of staff being there all year round that are involved in all aspects of the hospice, not only the medical care. They were supported last year by 42 Corporate volunteers like us.

On the day the management team were set the challenge of painting five bedrooms and one corridor. With a fantastic team effort they smashed the challenge and by the end of the day had completed all 10 bedrooms, one and a half corridors and a pantry! The hospice then had other corporate volunteers going in for the rest of the week to finish off the painting and helping out in the garden.

A big well done to the JLRLVS divisional team!
