Nominations are now open for the National Land Rover Awards 2019, the winners of which will be chosen at Land Rover Legends, the ultimate show for Land Rover connoisseurs, preservationists, restorers and enthusiasts, taking place at Bicester Heritage, on 25th and 26th May.
The National Awards
The focus of Land Rover Legends is on authenticity and originality, with the event featuring carefully-curated static displays of important Land Rovers as well as the National Awards for Most Original, Best Restored and Best Bespoke Land Rover. The inaugural event in 2018 attracted a very strong list of contenders for the Awards, and the judges had a tough job to determine the Highly Commended and overall Winner in each of the three categories.
Owners who would like to nominate their cherished Land Rovers for the 2019 National Awards can do so now at www.landroverlegends.com. Shortlisted vehicles will be invited to be displayed as part of a dedicated indoor exhibition at the Bicester Heritage event where, on Sunday May 26th, a panel of expert judges will select the Winner and Highly Commended entry in each category.
Land Rover Clubs lining up to take part
Over a dozen major Land Rover Clubs have also booked their display space for the event, including the SAS Pink Panther Register, Land Rover Stage Two Register, Project Jay Preservation Group, Discovery Owners Club, Range Rover Register, Range Rover Owner, CVC Register, Land Rover Register 1948-1953, Land Rover Series One Club, Land Rover Series 2 Club, Land Rover Special Vehicles & Defender 130 Club; Camel Trophy Owners Club, and the British Military Vehicle Group.
Many of the Clubs will be helping us celebrate four important Land Rover birthdays this year:
There will also be an award for Best Club Display at the event, for which every club attending will be eligible.
This year, for the first time, canine companions are welcome to attend the event (regardless of whether or not they arrive in a Land Rover!). So there’s no need to leave well-behaved four-legged friends at home; just pop them on a lead and bring them along.
Other new features for 2019 include on-site camping and Saturday evening entertainment. Camping bookings are coming in thick and fast, and Land Rover fans are advised to book early if they want to make a weekend of it in the atmospheric, inimitable setting of Bicester Heritage.
In addition to the fantastic range of very special vehicles on show, Land Rover lovers will find a host of other things to fascinate and tempt them, with top Land Rover restorers, specialists and associated suppliers, plus carefully-selected exhibitors and traders, all positioned in and around Bicester Heritage’s magnificent main exhibition hangar.
