McLaren Manchester Celebrates Relocation with Launch Party

Guests included Real Housewives of Cheshire favourites and Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor-Dawson


McLaren Manchester, formerly located in the iconic Canute Place, in the heart of Knutsford, has this year seen a relocation to another point of Cheshire's 'Golden Triangle', now situated in Wilmslow. The dealership, owned by Sytner Group features a range of New and Pre-Owned luxury vehicles including the McLaren 720S, 570S and 540C, across 18,000 square ft, over 2 floors. On Tuesday 10th April, the doors were opened to celebrate the move with a relocation party filled with supercars and celebrities.

Along with Hollyoaks star, Ashley Taylor-Dawson, the event was attended by friends of the McLaren brand including loyal customers and stars of the ITVbe hit show, 'The Real Housewives of Cheshire'. McLaren Brand Ambassador, Nermina Pieters-Mekic arrived with Stoke City Footballer Husband, Erik Pieters in their 570S Spider and enjoyed the night of celebrations, documenting the party on Instagram.

Show favourite, Dawn Ward also attended with ex-footballer turned property developer husband, Ashley Ward who partied with their daughter Darby, who has dreams of becoming the next big pop star, releasing her debut single this year. Dawn is also a local business woman, owning Medispa, Skulpt and successful Interior Design company Arista Designs.

Wearing her own clothing brand, Forever Unique, Seema Malhotra completed the hat-trick of housewives along with her husband, Sandeep. Both directors of the clothing brand which was a popular choice, being sported by both Seema and Dawn who looked stunning in black with a pop of colour in a tailored blazer from Seema's collection.


The evening featured entertainment from Performance Bartending UK, who showed off their mixology skills, performing an array of tricks and talents whilst serving a variety of cocktails. The formalities kicked off with McLaren Manchester Managing Director, Jon Crossley welcoming guests and giving a brief history of the brand before introducing Keith Holland of McLaren Automotive who works closely with the F1 division and brought a carbon fibre wheel from the new road-legal track car of McLaren's, the Senna.

Other special guests included McLaren CEO, Mike Flewitt, who spoke about his personal connection to the North West and his delight at the new dealership, the largest in the McLaren franchise. There was a nod to the legendary McLaren F1 racer Ayrton Senna with a short film dedicated to his life and career, followed by an unveiling of his exact '89/90 F1 Championship winning MP4/5 car, which had been mounted to the wall where it will remain as a permanent tribute.

Along with the Ayrton Senna homage, McLaren Manchester recognised another legend of the brand, arguable the most important man in it's history, Bruce McLaren.

With his daughter Amanda McLaren in attendance on the night, the dealership surprised the special guest with a moving tribute to her late father; a specially commissioned piece of artwork by local gallery, Vermillion Art Gallery, Knutsford.

The piece paid tribute to the founder, Bruce McLaren showing a montage of the New Zealand-born designer, driver, engineer and inventor in a large frame, unveiled for the first time at the event. A canvas copy was then handed to Amanda as a touching gift from the dealership as the guests applauded the masterpiece, of which copies are now for sale for the general public from McLaren Manchester or Vermillion Art Galleries.

There was plenty for supercar fans to enjoy, including an exclusive P1 GTR, loaned to the dealership by a customer, proud to display his rare model to attendees. The dealership was filled with a variety of the iconic McLaren models, including 720S and 570S Spider and a display of the MSO additions available, to tailor a bespoke McLaren to your desires.

Amalgam models brought miniature replicas of some McLaren's including the 675LT and the new Senna which dotted the building, along with a very special trophy. Ayrton Senna's 1989 Monaco Grand Prix winning trophy was brought up from the McLaren factory in Woking, in honour of McLaren Manchester's new showroom launch. Guests admired and took photos with the piece of history, proudly lit up on display along with the race winning car, driven by Ayrton Senna himself.

Along with these special features, guests enjoyed the music combination of DJ and professional saxophonist which gave the party a cool, modern vibe, very fitting with the McLaren brand as a whole.


Once the presentation was over there was plenty to peruse with stands from McLaren Affinity Partners providing a variety of luxury experiences, in keeping with the brand.

Boodles Jewellers, based in Manchester provided a pop-up cabinet of beautiful diamonds, watches, necklaces and rings for guests to explore from their signature ranges.

Charles Mitchell Wines provided the finest wine tasting, along with Eden Luxury Travel and Simon Dunn Chocolatier also displaying their offerings for the guests to enjoy.
